Leading organizations are becoming more affected by compliance challenges, regulations in sustainability, green practices and how to balance social, environmental and financial responsibilities.
In response, California Trinity University has created the Environmental Sustainability Certificate to develop professionally educated leaders who can balance business and profitability with social and environmental responsibility. The program provides an overview of environmental sustainability concepts and how to apply them in a business context, so that students can take advantage of the most sought-after sustainability positions in the industry and at non-governmental organizations.

This career and technical educational (CTE) program will include overviews of U.S. and California environmental laws, regulations, and policies; environmental health issues; pollution control technologies; pollution prevention approaches and techniques (Life Cycle Assessment, Design for the Environment, Product Stewardship, Green Building, Green Chemistry, Energy Management, Water Conservation, etc.); and environmental resource management tools. Students will apply classroom taught concepts to real world business tasks such as the creation of Environmental Management Systems, Sustainability Management plans, Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), as well as laboratory designed experiments, such as water quality testing, in the California Trinity University Career laboratory setting.
